I encourage all my picture book students – both writing or illustrating – to work with either a storyboard or a dummy, to give the an understanding of the final structure of their book.

Did a check with the family – my nephew’s is the one of the rollercoaster.

Oh, yes lots of very clever kids at Yuna PS.
My parents and my brother and Sister in Law live there.
They have 3 children at the Primary School.
I was hoping to see a name on the pictures to see if one was from one of the Thompson kids!
Maybe the first one? They LOVE tractors!

Thanks for stopping by Sally H. (I’m having a Sally day here today!) I was just looking at your website and I think I’ll link the image of your dummy book to The Writers’ Quilt website. As a non-illustrator I’ve never planned a book that way and it’s interesting to see a different way of approaching a new story. Hope you’re well x

Sounds good, Katrina. There HAS to be a way between sending off e-books and actual face-to-face workshops. The f-t-f aren’t always as good as one hopes, especially if there are lots of attendees. And if there are few attendees, the workshop usually isn’t viable.
